Class Archetypes

Those who venture into chaotic fields of combat, testing their skill and wit against foes and wild beasts that infest each realm are the willing adventurers and explorers one creates and guides in the Game of Wielder. Each player creates a unique character at the start of the game; in a TTRPG, this would be a process which involves the ideas and inspirations of the player, guidance of the Narrator who explains and describes the realm and story arc, and input from fellow players at the table.

Creation of a new character starts with choice of species, size, and class archetype. Classes in TTRPGS are the types of adventurers one may choose to create, each class depicts a different skillset, whether that is combat, exploration, social interaction, strategic leadership, or interaction with wild creatures.

The Classes in Wielder represent adventurers, specialists, combatants, explorers savants, and scientists who have mastered the use of specific Artifacts which have come to be associated with different classes. Each Artifact channels the Wielder’s abilities and skills and as the character advances in game, their Artifact may be upgraded or allow for heightened power to be wielded.

Classes in Wielder are unlike traditional fantasy and science fiction, RPG classes. Though characters may engage in actions common to TTRPGs, engaged in melee or ranged combat, casting magic, or shapeshifting; the inspirations and vision for each class tends to be a bit stranger, more alien, and diverse.

Available Class Archetypes

> Breaker > Front line, Heavy hitter. Crowd control. Bare-handed pugilist who has mastered motion dynamics. Mechanically-enhanced Judo.

> Collector > Specialist merchant scavenger who maintains a secret workshop within their luggage.

> Digger > Exploration, navigation, structural and subterranean demolition. A tireless worker being who possesses the strongest shovel.

> Ego > Face, Social strategist., master of Illusion. The study of one’s own appearance as a portal or magical catalyst may enable eventual shapeshifting and illusions.

> Fielder > The weather control conspiracy theory in the form of an individual adventurer.

> Hortic > Plant whisperer. Owner of an excellent Terrarium which may fight alongside one who waters, prunes and fertilizes well.

> Lance > When life is viewed through a precision spectrum viewfinder, everything looks like a target. Precision, luck, chance, maintenance and perfection of one’s favored implement.

> Pacer > Speed, scout, infiltration, support, buffer, debuffer, primer. Possession of a fantastic technology which allows the Wielder to project a space/time-warping field before them allowing them to slow time and navigate reality at a faster pace.

> Thrasher > Melee, Front line, Heavy hitter. High burst damage over consecutive turns. Wired up, fired up. Activation of a Kinetic Relay Unit embedded into the Wielder’s physiology and endocrine system allows for massive damage duration which degrades over time.

> Vessel > Mystic, summoner, medium. Implementation of ancient alien technology which allows the medium to summon individual spirits, entities and phenomena into their being. Each summoned being may perform a wicked trick.

> Xeno > Collector and wearer of exquisite biological specimens form across the inhabited realms. Some Wielders of powerful artifacts and technology may see themselves become alike to a unique specimen worthy of collecting and manipulating.
